Our mission and the goals we wish to achieve.
Pause For Peace is a 501(c)3 which promotes peace-building initiatives in Chicago communities that are stricken with violence and gang influence. Our mission is to intervene in the violence in neighborhoods by providing the necessary tools and techniques for peaceful, nonviolent interactions to people of all ages. Specifically, we strive to tackle violence at its roots through addressing trauma, restorative peace circles, offering a helpline for mediation, day-trips at rainbow beach and many more peace-building activities and resources. Our end goal is to reduce and, hopefully, eradicate the attractiveness of violence and the romanticism of gang life.
